Private Lunch with PM of Austria
Speaker Series: Sebastian Kurz
Sat Sept 1, 2018, Hong Kong Club
We are very excited to offer an opportunity for an intimate exchange with a sitting head of government and head of the presidency of the European Union.
Sebastian Kurz is the current Chancellor of Austria, serving since 18 December 2017, and has been Austrian Minister of Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2017 and before that State Secretary for Integration from 2011. Born in 1986, at age 31, Sebastian has been the youngest head of government of the world and before that the youngest foreign minister in the world.
Sebastian has made global headlines as the prototype of the new generation of media savvy, populist leaders of Europe and as the first Millennial government leader. CNN called him a ‘rock star to conservatives’, the Atlantic ‘The new face of Europe…” and the US ambassador to Germany called him ‘a rockstar’. Sebastian has repeatedly and publicly offered to act as a bridge between Western and Central European countries in the EU, particularly the populist governments in Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic and he’s seen as spearheading the policies of the new conservative right in Europe.
Sebastian and his government have a strong interest in entrepreneurship, innovation and new technology and in learning from the rapidly growing economies of Asia.
THANK YOU:
